Starting February 1, Asiana Airlines and Air China, China's largest airline, will commence code-sharing on all Korea-China routes operated by both airlines.

With the most number of Korea-China flights, Asiana Airlines will now be able to offer passengers with a more convenient schedule by flying Incheon-Beijing (6 times a day), Incheon-Qingdao (3 times a day) and Tianjin, Weihai, Dalian, Hangzhou, Chengdu and other major cities in China more than twice a day.

For the very first time ever between Korea-China airlines, passengers will be able to jointly accrue and redeem mileage. This code-sharing deal is significant in that it's the first Korean-Chinese deal to link the capital cities of both countries. This would especially strengthen Asiana Airlines' strong presence in China which it already holds.

Earlier on December 5, 2006 Asiana Airlines signed a MOU with All Nippon Airways (ANA) including a code-sharing agreement and a corporate wide alliance. Therefore, this extended code-sharing deal with Air China covering all of China is all the more noteworthy in that it enables Asiana Airlines to connect airlines from Korea, Japan, and China.

All this helps bring Asiana Airlines one step closer to our customers by offering a more convenient China flight schedule with the code-sharing deal with Air China.
