This summer has been one for the record books. After Team Korea's breathtaking performance and the nation's hosting of the most successful World Cup ever, Koreans took to the air en masse this past July and August, to explore the world in record numbers. Korean overseas travelers for the two summer vacation months alone, topped 1.5 million visitors for the first time ever.

But the Summer of 2002 has been even more special to all of us at Asiana. Thanks to all of our loyal patrons, both in Korea and abroad, Asiana Airlines recorded its most profitable summer, ever in the history of the airline. This summer, Asiana Airlines more than doubled its net profits versus the summer 2001. This performance is especially gratifying considering that Asiana's record profits occurred at a time when the rest of the world airline industry was a suffering unprecedented losses.
